Stairwell Expo: Finished Tasks

Description:                                                                In the summer of 2024, I co-organized my first exhibition together with Joep van Rijnsoever, marking the start of my interest and passion for exhibition-making. The goal was to give like-minded students the opportunity to show their work to a bigger audience. The exhibition was located in an old stairwell where on 5 floors, 5 different artist had their work displayed.

We started this project with an open call which we communicated through an Instagram page and by posters which we hung up in different art universities. During the open call run, we made sure to create a design system for the promotion and the exhibition itself.

The chosen colors and style was based on visual aspects of the location itself. The walls of the stairwell have yellow tints and the lights are dim. We wanted to communicate as direct as possible so we chose to use the bold typography called Impact and a big contrast of honey yellow and midnight black.

Joep and me splitted the tasks between each other but we did everything together. Joep took care the design and technical parts, whereas I made sure the the production, planning and communication with the stakeholders was kept in check. During the exhibition, over 100 visitors came to see the artists from 17:00-21:00.

Participating artists were:
Anne Kleinjan, Boris Deben, Dimitri Trajkoviç, Ella Gijselhart, Norah van Lith
